It’s nearly January, and surely you’ll be glad to be back at uni, getting ready for exams? Once they’re over and you’ve gone on a night out in town you’ve got to make it home. Walking home can seem tempting (and a sensible idea after a few drinks), but it’s never the right answer. We’ve got some alternatives that will help you#StaySafe this coming term.

West Quay Cars

You might have spotted the friendly West Quay Cars team at our Freshers’ Fayre back in September – and there’s a reason we promote them. Committed to the #StaySafe campaign, they’ve got a booking app as well as the usual phone number to make it even easier for you to book a taxi. You can download the app on your phone, or call them on 02380 999 999.

The Safety Bus

And if you’re strapped for cash, there’s the good old SUSU Safety Bus. Run by student drivers, this is guaranteed to be your safest and friendliest way home after a night out. The bus runs every evening during term-time from the redbrick on campus so you can get a lift home after a night at the Stag’s, as well as from Portswood on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The journey will cost you an absolute maximum of ¬£2 (as long as you show your student ID), and to save waiting around, you can track the bus’ location at any time¬†here.
