Our very own entertainment magazine The Edge, attended press conference for The Light Between Oceans with Director Derek Cianfrance and Hollywood A-listers, Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.
The conference, held at Claridges, was organised prior to the European premiere of the film in central London to discuss the film’s themes, genre and performance.
Editor of the student-run magazine and University of Southampton BA Film and English student, Anneka Honeyball, attended the film’s press conference. She says, “Sitting on the front row as I watched two of my favourite actors in the flesh was just amazing. As an aspiring journalist, it was incredible to be at an event where my peers were fully fledged members of the press and that I was treated in the same way by the lovely people at Claridges.
“I have a new verve for pursuing this career path and a whole other experience to add to my CV – and that’s all thanks to The Edge and the lovely people at Entertainment One!”
The Union’s Vice-President Democracy & Creative Industries, Cameron Meldrum says, “I’m really proud that The Edge is getting the recognition it deserves by having the opportunity to attend events like this. I urge students to get involved and see how they can develop their writing and journalism skills.
